There are so many local activites you can take part
in when staying in La Manga, so look below to find out
more!

For
those of you who like a more energetic holiday there
are two seas where you can enjoy all manner of water
sports all year round.
The
Mar Menor is 6miles by 12 miles and only 7 metres at
its deepest which means the water temperature stays
warm, up to 30 degrees in the summer. This makes it
ideal for wind surfing, kite surfing or sailing, courses
for which can be taken with qualified instructors at
many places in La Manga.

Scuba
diving along this coast is amazing and one of the most
popular spots for divers in the whole of Spain is Cabo
de Palos. From here you can take courses in scuba diving
for beginners or more experienced divers. They do boat
trips daily and also rent any equipment you may need.
There is a vast variety of sea life, both plant and
animal, even Sea Horses can be found because of the
warm temperature of the Mar Menor. There are also many
shipwrecks to explore and because of the amazing clarity
of the water visibility is superb.

There
are many beautiful beaches along the whole coastline
of the Mar Menor and the Mediterranean and many small
collections of bars restaurants offering a wide variety
of cuisines. All along the coast you will find endless
promenades upon which to stroll or paths on which to
cycle throughout the whole area. You can find cycle
hire easily in this area.
If
you like to walk there are beautiful National parks
which include hills and beaches, with a varied wildlife
of flora and fauna. One of which, Calblanque, is only
fifteen minutes drive, with beautiful views, pony trekking,
bird watching and cycling.
The
Mar Menor is famous also for its healing properties
for people who suffer from rheumatism, arthritis or
skin problems, a natural mud bath can be found which
offers therapeutic results.

For those of you who enjoy golf there are some of the
best golfing facilities around. La Manga Club has three
top quality 18 hole golf courses surrounded by the most
breath taking scenery, where they have hosted many international
tournaments. They also have a 18 hole pitch and put
course.
Also
at La Manga Club you can play tennis, bowls, football,
crazy golf for the family with younger children or enjoy
their many restaurants, bars and shops.
There
are many more golf courses in the area, some of which
can be found at Villamartin, Campoamor and Las Ramblas
all within 30 minutes drive.

Horse
riding is available in the Costa Calida too, with lessons
for all abilities, and pony trekking in the hills.

For
those who like to live life in the fast lane there is
a go-karting course close to the start of La Manga “strip”.

For
the “shopaholics” amongst us there is a
market every day of the week somewhere in the area,
the largest being in Cabo de Palos on a Sunday.
Los
Belones is a small local village with its own market
and an extremely varied array of restaurants where you
could enjoy a different cuisine every day of the week.

In
the surrounding area there are many places of interest
to visit such as Cartagena, an ancient historic city
with Roman ruins such as the ampitheatre and forts,
a beautiful harbour and a strong history of military
and marine importance. And Murcia similarly historic
and with beautiful architecture and shops.
Just
to drive through the area is relaxing with orange and
lemon groves along the roadside and beautiful scenery
at every turn.
